The Linear connector indexes issues, comments, and related content from your Linear workspace.

  • Teams (public only)
  • Issue metadata
Only issues from public teams are indexed. Private teams are excluded to respect team privacy settings.

Setup

Legacy API Key Authentication Deprecated: If you previously connected Linear using an API key, please migrate to OAuth for improved security and better webhook reliability. To migrate, disconnect your existing connection and reconnect using the Connect Linear Account button.

Connect to Grapevine

  1. In Grapevine, go to Integrations and click on Linear
  2. Click Connect Linear Account to begin the authorization process

Authorize connection

  1. You’ll be redirected to Linear to authorize the Grapevine integration
  2. Review the requested permissions (read access to issues, comments, and teams)
  3. Click Authorize to grant access

Indexing begins

You’ll be redirected back to Grapevine and the connection will be saved automatically. Grapevine will begin indexing your Linear issues and comments. The initial sync may take time depending on the number of issues in your workspace.

Permissions

The Linear connector respects Linear permissions:
  • Only public teams are indexed (private teams are excluded)
  • The integration has read-only access to teams and issues visible to the authorized account
  • Archived issues are not indexed by default

Sync behavior

The initial indexing process may take time depending on the number of issues in your workspace. Real-time updates are configured automatically via webhooks.
  • Initial sync - Begins automatically after setup completion
  • Ongoing syncs - Real-time updates via webhooks keep your index current
  • Deletions - Deleted issues are removed from the index automatically

Limitations

  • Only public teams are indexed (private teams are excluded)
  • Archived issues are not indexed by default
  • Attachments are not indexed (only metadata)
